our story
My love for Bernedoodles started in the 90’s when my teacher assigned a research paper about anything in the world that we wanted to write about. I looked down at the Bernese Mountain Dog puppy on my school folder and knew immediately what I would be delving into.
When I got home, I pulled out the encyclopedia (this was before the internet was a household luxury) and fell in love and have been relatively obsessed ever since. A BMD is many peoples’ dream dog for their beauty, intelligence, and temperament - I was not exception!
Having grown up with a Labrador Retriever as our first dog who was whelped in our home and other dogs I’d rescued as pets in adulthood that shed profusely, I was excited when this doodle craze came about.
In 2015, I discovered the Bernedoodle and began tracking the progress of the breed. I knew that when the time came, I would invest in a dog birthed from within a Guardian program. In 2020, I found Emily with Rocky Road Doodles and Kishan with Namaste Bernedoodles, and after following along for a little over a year, I purchased my first Bernedoodle, Livy, who is Kishan’s personal dog’s, Zeus’ daughter.
In late 2023, we started talking seriously about partnership as my family and I were in a place of excitement about establishing a new breeding/ Guardian program in Houston. As a native Houstonian, I knew my network was far-reaching with trustworthy individuals to start us off. Since we started in February, of 2024 we’ve had an incredible start!
With a background in mental health, specializing in the connections between the nervous system and stress response recovery, I love that the focus of our operation makes scientific and ethical, humane sense in that raising mom and dad dogs in Guardian homes with healthy bonds and loving caregivers, they will continue to produce well-adjusted, adaptive puppies for people to purchase around the world.
Our puppies come from moms and dads who are raised as happy family companions with individuals who have been vetted for our Bernedoodle Guardian Program. They go on trips, to parks, kids’ baseballs games, and on family walks. They are beloved and cherished. In addition to living their best life, the Bernedoodles in our program have been carefully hand-selected with astounding and well-traced genetic pedigrees. Parent dogs are screen extensively for health and temperament, and if a dog does not meet our very high standards for criteria, they are not held back for our breeding program.
